“As an ICU nurse working with Covid patients, I am grateful that Monarch Fitness Coaching is keeping me physically and mentally strong.”
Goals: Injury prevention and prehab, staying active and healthy
Age Group: 45-49
Challenges: Balancing working as a nurse, raising a family, and finding time to train.
Training Plan: Margaret uses in-person and virtual training. She focuses on improving the strength and stability required for her job. Additionally, Margaret does cardio training independently to reduce stress and feel good.
Margaret sought out Monarch Fitness Coaching because of her concern about remaining injury free. Many of her nursing colleagues were experiencing on-the-job injuries.
Margaret’s personal training team initially focused on improving her strength and cardiovascular function. As Margaret improved, she was able to add working on reaction time and stability. The training directly impacts Margaret’s ability to stabilize her ICU clients and keep them upright as their body weight shifts when she is helping them to stand and move.
Margaret loved Monarch Fitness Coaching’s program so much, she became a coach. Learn more about Coach Margaret.
Q and A with Margaret
The nursing profession can be a very physically demanding job. How does training help you?
The training with Monarch and the emphasis on proper form, as well as injury prevention, has helped me avoid many of the issues that have affected my colleagues.
As a nurse, your work schedule changes week by week. How does that impact your training? How do you find time to complete your workouts?
Monarch Fitness Coaching makes it very easy, and it is one of the things I love the most about training with them. My personal trainer is able to look at my crazy schedule and create a personalized training plan for me that makes me feel confident that I will accomplish my goals. The plan is flexible, often offering training at more than one time of day and full of optional activities that I can do if my day allows for it. In addition, the staff are very accessible and are always quick to respond if I have questions about how to fit it all in!
You have worked with other trainers and followed other programs. What makes Monarch Fitness Coaching different?
The emphasis on form is key for me. I also love how individualized my plan is. Heather takes the time to listen to me and learn about my goals and concerns, and then constructs a plan specifically designed to help me achieve them. My plan is modified as my goals change. This was especially important as I worked my way through some nagging injuries.
